Make wishtv.com your home page

If you’re already looking forward to holiday shopping, this event is for you!

Mel McMahon, Indiana Owned founder, joined us Wednesday on “Life.Style.Live!” along with Karla Gosche-Williams, co-owner of Midwest Marketplace and Indiana Owned member, to discuss the purpose behind the Midwest Marketplace, their upcoming Christmas Marketplace and more.

The Christmas Marketplace event features unique gifts, home décor, vintage goods, handmade items and yummy treats from your favorite Midwest businesses!

Midwest Marketplace was started in 2021 by two friends (Karla & Bailey) who wanted to give back to small Midwest/local businesses.

Indiana Owned members are business owners who want you to know they live, work and play here. They are the business owners donating food to shelters, sponsoring the little league teams, and employing hundreds of thousands of people in our state.

Every business on IndianaOwned.com falls into one of two categories. They are either an “Original,” meaning the company is Indiana-owned and operated, headquartered here, and not part of an out-of-state chain, or they are a “Franchise Friend,” meaning the franchise is Indiana-owned and operated, the owner lives here in Indiana, and is engaged in our community.

When you see the Indiana Owned badge, you know you are supporting a local business like this one.

Their Christmas Marketplace is happening at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds on November 4 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. (the first hour is for VIPs only) and November 5 from 9:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale now.

Mel McMahon of Indiana Originals joined us from the Indianapolis City Market downtown today to share someways you can support their vendors, along with other downtown businesses.

Downtown businesses have faced many challenges since the shutdown in March. Those challenges are tough to overcome, especially with companies continuing to have their employees work remotely and with large events cancelled or postponed. Our downtown members need your business! So grab your mask and head downtown to support dozens of Indiana Original businesses!

Today’s featured member is Indianapolis City Market! City Market was on architect Alexander Ralston’s original plat of Indianapolis dating back to 1821. There were actually seven structures on the City Market grounds prior to the historic Market House that many are familiar with today. The Market house opened on November 4, 1861. City Market is on the National Register of Historic Places and boasts 30 independent, small businesses that includes a mix of retail, restaurants, and service providers. The City Market is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and closed Sunday. Individual vendor hours may vary. Find the full list of vendors here.

The City Market is also host to Catacombs tours, an all-Indiana beer tap room, weddings and special events, and “The Original Farmer’s Market” started in 1997. Normally located on Market St between Delaware Street and Alabama Street, the outdoor market can be found on the southeast quadrant of Monument Circle due to construction. Visit the market every Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
