It may have seemed like it was delayed awhile, but winter definitely arrived in central Indiana Saturday night. While there is no more snow in the forecast for the next couple days, the cold winter-like temperatures will stay with us all week.
Tonight – Stays cloudy and cold. The coldest since last winter. Low 16
Monday – Mostly sunny but still cold. High only 32.
Tuesday – Sunny again and not quite so cold. Low Tuesday morning 23. High Tuesday afternoon 40.
Wednesday – Becoming cloudy with a chance for snow Wednesday night. High in the afternoon 38.
The TRACE of snow we received between about 4:00am and 7:30am is gone but we are left with overcast skies and cold temperatures.
Afternoon temperatures were fairly steady in the upper 20s.
Today’s temperatures are 15 – 20 degrees colder than Saturday afternoon.
Tonight we could see the coldest since last winter. On December 17, 2021 the low was 17. Then February 20, 2021 the low was 12.
The sun comes out Monday but the temperatures does not warm up all that much. At least it will not be to windy with the cold temperatures.
FutureCast indicates just a small path of clouds in northeast Indiana. Otherwise sunshine in the forecast for Monday.
By Monday, winter-like temperatures will settle into all of Indiana,
8 Day Outlook – Another chance for snow on Thursday. there could be some accumulation. then very cold Friday. a little warm up Saturday with a chance for rain showers. sunshine returns for next Sunday and Monday.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Looks like we have established a hot humid weather pattern that will persist for several more days. Only slim chances for rain in the week ahead.
Tonight – Clearing skies warm and muggy. Low 71
Monday – Mostly sunny hot and humid. High near 90. Should be dry weather.
Tuesday – Mostly sunny hot and humid. High in the low 90s. There is a chance for some isolated hit and miss showers Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday – Still steamy. High low 90s.
A few scattered clouds around today but the atmosphere did not seem conducive to building the clouds into showers.
Sunday is the 5th day this month we have seen the temperature hit 90 of above at the Indy Airport.
Another warm muggy night again with fans and sirconditioners working overtime.
About the same weather for Monday. Pleanty of heat and humidity will make it feel like it is in the upper 90s Monday afternoon. Take it easy outside if you can.
No jacket or umbrella needed on the way to work or school Monday.
FutureCast is indicating there will be very few clouds to block the intense August sun Monday afternoon. Don’t forget the sunblock if you are headed out.
8 Day Outlook – Only a small change in our weather pattern Friday and Saturday. Temperatures not quite so hot and humid but still above average in the mid to upper 80s. Better chances for showers Sunday and Monday.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The rain that was around Saturday night and most of the day Sunday moved east Sunday afternoon. Now our weather pattern dries out and stays cool for several days. Although we will see sunshine, temperatures Monday and Tuesday will feel more like March.
Rain cleared out Sunday afternoon but the skies did not clear. A shift to a brisk North wind and temperatures only in the 40s are more appropriate for March.
By late Sunday afternoon the rain was moving into Ohio and Kentucky.
As the FutureCast forecast indicated, we saw several locations getting more than 2 inches of rain during the past 24 hours. Heavier rain was to the North with about 1 inch or less in Central and Southern Indiana.
The clouds should clear out late tonight. However, that just makes for an even colder temperature situation. There is a Frost Advisory for Central and Northern Indiana for tonight as temperatures drop into the lower and middle 30s.
Even with the sunshine Monday, the temperatures will only reach near 60. That is more than 10 degrees below average for May 10.
The below average temperatures stay with us all week. A little bit of a warming trend by Friday. Then back to about average next weekend.
