Vert hot and humid with storm chances this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We had a very warm and dry day to end the work week across central Indiana.

Friday night:

A mild and mostly clear night is ahead with lows only dipping into the low 70s.

Saturday:

A hot and humid day is ahead for your Saturday with partly cloudy skies. When you factor in the humidity, heat index values could reach the triple digits. Isolated showers and storms are possible in the afternoon hours before sunset.

Highs top out in the low 90s.

Sunday:

We may experience our hottest temperatures of the year for our Sunday. Heat index values in the triple digits are expected. Scattered showers and storms are possible in the evening to nighttime hours with isolated strong to severe storms not out of the question.

A Marginal Risk of severe weather is in place for the northern two-thirds of Indiana. Main threat is damaging winds, and with any thunderstorm, heavy rainfall and frequent lightning is expected.

Highs top out in the low to mid 90s.

8 Day Forecast:

Expect the active weather pattern and the heat to continue into next week. Daily storm chances are in place through next Thursday. We will start the work week with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s, but a cool down looks to work itself in throughout the week.
