Warmer Wednesday, rain by Thursday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another gloomy and damp day was the story across a good chunk of the state. Isolated showers and patchy drizzle moved through parts of the state as well.

Tuesday night:

Areas of patchy drizzle to light rain will continue this evening. Skies will become mostly cloudy by the overnight hours. Another chilly night is ahead with lows falling into the upper 30s.

Wednesday:

Expect a chilly start to the day with mainly cloudy skies. As we get into the afternoon hours, some clearing will occur. Rain chances will move back in as early as Wednesday evening with scattered showers moving in from the south.

A warmer afternoon will be on tap with highs topping out in the upper 50s.

Thursday:

Moisture from a tropical system (Zeta) and a front coming in from the northwest will amplify rain chances for Thursday. There is the possibility of a Flood Watch being issued due to the amount of rainfall that could occur.

Expect a wet and breezy day with cooler high temperatures. Highs will only rise into the upper 40s to low 50s.

8 Day Forecast:

A few isolated showers look to linger into Friday morning, but then we will dry out for the weekend. Highs will slightly warm into the upper 50s through the weekend with more sunshine. Temperatures look to continue to be around average by the new work week next week.
