Bitter cold Sunday night, Monday morning; wind chill advisory issued

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We’re in store to see the coldest air of the season Sunday night.

A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect beginning at 6 p.m. until noon Monday for most of central Indiana.

Wind chills between 10 and 20 degrees below zero are possible Sunday night and early Monday morning.

Actual lows Sunday night will drop below zero for many locations. This will be the first subzero reading of the season.

After a few clouds Sunday afternoon, evening skies will clear out later Sunday night.

If you’re going to venture out Sunday night to see the total lunar eclipse, be sure to dress in layers! You can read more about it by clicking here

Monday morning we wake up to temperatures below zero but skies stay mostly sunny.

Highs Monday will stay in the upper teens close to 20 for the afternoon.

A few clouds will be possible later in the afternoon and evening.

We warm up on Tuesday with highs near 40. Rain is likely later in the afternoon and evening.

The warm temperatures won’t last long. Another blast of cold air heads this way for the rest of the week and stays through the weekend.

We’ll see a chance of rain early Wednesday before changing over to snow during the afternoon.  A few more chances of snow are possible for the end of the week and next weekend. But the main weather story will be the cold air.
