Cloudy and cool Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– It’s going to be a cool and cloudy start to the weekend.

TODAY: Temperatures start out in the 40s this morning across the state. Highs climb into the upper 50s, which is a few degrees below normal for this time of the year. There will likely be a little sunshine during the middle of the day, but look for more clouds than sun. It’s going to be a great day for college football games with mostly dry conditions.

TONIGHT: Clouds increase tonight and we may even see a few showers develop in the southern part of Indiana. It’s going to be cool with lows falling into the 40s.

SUNDAY: A system arrives overnight Saturday into early Sunday morning. This is going to bring a good chance of showers and even a few thunderstorms to the area. Look for a soggy start to Sunday with more rain chances during the day.

Some of the thunderstorms may be on the stronger side with gusty winds and heavy rainfall. The Storm Prediction Center has part of the state under a marginal risk for severe storms, so be sure to stay weather aware.

Temperatures climb into the middle 60s in Indianapolis while areas further south climb into the 70s as a warm front moves into the state.

MONDAY: The rain continues for the first part of the workweek. Look for a few showers Monday with highs climbing into the middle 60s.

8DAY FORECAST: Tuesday looks nice with partly cloudy skies and highs near 60s. On Wednesday, we’re watching another system that will arrive later in the day. This brings more showers late Wednesday with highs in the lower 60s. Temperatures fall into the 50s for the end of next week with several more rain chances.
