Cold and breezy end to the work week with warmer temps by this time next week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Happy Friday everyone! After Thursday’s ice storm, we’re beginning to clear out Friday.

We’ll start off cold and breezy with wind chill values dipping into the low teens. Watch out for a few lingering slick spots through the morning drive!

Temperatures will slowly climb into the upper 30s to low 40s Friday afternoon under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

If you’re heading to any of the remaining high school football games Friday evening, make sure to dress for warmth with game time temps averaging the mid 30s.

With clearing skies into the overnight, temps will drop quickly. We’ll end up bottoming out in the mid 20s in most spots by Saturday morning.

Our Saturday will be a good one outside of a slim chance for a wintry mix by the late afternoon/evening.

High temperatures will peak in the low to mid 40s for most Saturday afternoon.

The UIndy Hounds will take on Fort Hays State Saturday in the first round of the playoffs! Go Hounds!

The second half of the weekend looks to bring another wintry mix opportunity and cold temps. Highs Sunday will peak in the upper 30s.

Overall, the weekend will be mostly dry outside of the slim wintry weather chances.

Past this weekend, the forecast looks fairly timid with a warming trend set to move our way by the middle of next week.

If you’re looking to make holiday travel plans, don’t expect any bad weather for your trip. Most of the Midwest looks to be mostly sunny and right around or above average for the Thanksgiving holiday.
