Cool and cloudy start to the weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)–It will be much cooler heading into the holiday weekend.

TODAY: We may see a few showers early this morning across parts of Indiana. Look for mostly cloudy skies through much of the day. We’ll see a little sunshine late in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will be running 15-20 degrees below normal for this time of year with highs near 60. It will be a touch breezy with winds out of the northeast at 8-12 mph.

TONIGHT: Skies will clear and it turns chilly. Lows are expected to fall into the low and middle 40s across much of the state.

SUNDAY: It’s going to be a chilly start to race day. Temperatures start out in the 40s but the good news is we’ll see lots of sunshine. Highs will still be below normal but a little warmer than Saturday. Look for readings near 70.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Skies will become partly cloudy and it won’t be as chilly with lows falling close to 50.

MEMORIAL DAY: The holiday looks dry with partly cloudy skies. It’s going to be pleasantly cool with highs near 73.

8 DAY FORECAST: Rain returns for the middle and end of the workweek. Look for several chances for showers and even a few thunderstorms beginning late Tuesday and stretching through Friday. Temperatures gradually begin to rise back to normal readings and climb into the lower 80s for next weekend.
