Cool, dry weekend continues with strong storms possible early next week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Good Saturday evening, everyone!

We officially topped out at 65 degrees just after midnight Friday and have struggled to get back to that number Saturday afternoon with a thick blanket of clouds and a north wind. Compared to Friday, that’s about 15-25 degrees cooler across the state compared to Friday.

Rain on Saturday was limited mostly to southern Indiana.

That rain will stay there through the overnight, and temps will drop from the low 60s to the low 50s through the night.

Some areas in northern Indiana will bottom out in the upper 40s for the Sunday morning drive.

With a little more sunshine through the second half of the weekend, high temps will rebound into the mid to upper 70s.

Rain chances will be slim through the day, but eventually, rain will start to return from south to north by late Sunday night into Monday.

Get the yard work done Sunday, because the workweek will get off to a soggy start.

Temperatures will rise a bit with the rising rain chances both Monday and Tuesday, but that’s where they will stop climbing.

Strong storms are possible Tuesday, so keep an eye on the skies! Rain will move out early Wednesday with Thursday being the “pick” day of full forecast.

The tropics are reloading this weekend with Kirk having just developed off the coast of Africa. Another disturbance east of the already hard-hit Carolinas will need to be watched as it has a 40 percent chance of becoming Leslie in the next five days.

We’ll stay seasonable the next several days until warmer air and better rain chances slide in next weekend.
