David’s Wintry Sunday Forecast

A taste of winter weather this weekend. We had the windy cold weather Saturday. Next, there is some light snow in the forecast for Sunday. We will have at least a couple periods of light snow showers or snow flurries. There could be up to a 1/2 inch of snow on grassy areas but the streets should stay wet as the snow melts on contact.

Tonight – Cloudy and cold. Low 30. Some snow showers of snow flurries are possible toward Sunday morning.

Sunday – Light snow showers of flurries in the morning mixes with light rain during the day. High 40. Then the precipitation changes back to snow showers and flurries. Minor accumulation on grassy areas and melting on streets.

Monday – Weather clears up to partly cloudy, dry. High 42.

Huge change in our weather since last weekend. From sunshine and above average temperatures to below average temperatures and a little light snow.

There were some snow showers and snow flurries around central Indiana Saturday night and Sunday morning. However, it is that area of snow in Iowa that may bring us our first accumulating snow on Sunday.

By 1:00 am some light snow will be moving in. 1/4 inch or so accumulation on grassy areas. Light snow melts on streets as the pavement temperature is around 40.

With a little warm up during the day Sunday, the precipitation will change to some light rain through the afternoon.

As temperatures drop behind the cold front the precipitation will change back to light snow showers, especially in northern Indiana.

The FutureCast forecast is for less than 1/2 inch of snow for central Indiana. A little more to the east.

Bottom line – here is how I think it will play out.

8 Day Outlook – Warmer Tuesday and Wednesday in the 50s. Chance for rain Wednesday. then dry and seasonably cool the rest of next week.
