Dreary day with sunshine returning Saturday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Another dreary day today but sunshine is returning for your Saturday. A little batch of precipitation is moving across the western part of the state which may produce a quick dusting of snow but no major accumulations in the metro area.
TODAY: We started out with areas of patchy fog early, especially in northwest Indiana. We are still under the influence of an area of low pressure plaguing the Great Lakes. This gives us another dreary day with no sunshine and light precipitation. We may see a little light drizzle or mist along with a few snow flurries in western Indiana. Highs today will stay in the upper 30s near 40.
TONIGHT: This evening we may see a few scattered light showers rotating through the state. Look for mostly cloudy skies with temperatures staying into the middle 30s.
SATURDAY: It looks like sunshine is returning for your Saturday. We’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies for the afternoon. It will be a bit warmer with highs climbing into the low and middle 40s. Temperatures will be a little above normal for the first part of the holiday weekend.
SUNDAY: On Sunday if you’re heading to the Colts game, pre game festivities and kickoff will be dry. Look for mostly cloudy skies with temperatures into the upper 30s near 40. A few areas of drizzle may be possible late Sunday. So if you are out ringing in the new year we may see a few pockets of precipitation.
NEW YEAR’S DAY
The new year brings dry but cooler temperatures to the state. Highs on Monday will be closer to normal for this time of the year. Normal high is 37 and highs will be in the upper 30s. Clouds stick around for the holiday but it will be dry.
8 DAY FORECAST: Temperatures will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s for the rest of the week. Sunshine will be likely on Tuesday with a few spotty showers possible on Wednesday. Skies become partly cloudy for Thursday and Friday of next week.
