Dry Saturday with snow and ice possible Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A quiet Saturday will make way for possible now on Sunday.

Saturday:

It will be a relatively quiet day across the area to kick off the weekend. A mix of sun and clouds will appear across the area, with clouds increasing heading into the evening. Highs top out in the middle to upper 30s.

Saturday night:

Clouds will be on the increase Saturday night ahead of our Sunday system, but we should remain quiet for the majority of the ovenright. Lows fall to the middle 20s.

Sunday:

The next system moves into the state Sunday morning. Different kinds of precipitation are expected depending on the location. Expect mostly snow for areas north of Interstate 70, while along the I-70 corridor it will likely be a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. South of the I-70 corridor, it should be mostly rain. Precipitation should wind down by Sunday evening.

Accumulations should only range around 1 inch, maybe 2 inches for northern counties. Around the Indy metro, less than 1 inch of snow, plus sleet and some freezing rain, will be possible.

Highs will top out in the middle 30s.

8 day forecast:

Quiet weather will open the workweek Monday and Tuesday. Another weak system will move in on Wednesday, sparking rain and snow showers. Temperatuers should warm close to 40 degrees for the second half of the workweek, with more precipitation chances slated for Friday.
