Freezing temperatures overnight; cool days continue

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — a freeze warning will be in effect for most of central Indiana Monday night.

Tonight:

A cold front responsible for the morning rain and afternoon cloud cover, will also usher in a reinforcing shot of colder air tonight. A Freeze Warning is in effect for most of central Indiana, with a Frost Advisory in place for the southern third of the state.  Both expire at 9:00 AM, Tuesday.

Skies will gradually clear, allowing for temperatures to tank state wide.  Overnight lows will be close to the freezing mark in most locations, especially the northern half of the state.  This would effectively end the growing season across the area.

Tuesday:

Widespread morning frost is likely.  Sunshine remains for the rest of the day.  Highs will remain cool, only hitting the middle 50s.

Wednesday:

Another sun filled day, with well below average temperatures.  Highs top out in the lower to middle 50s.

More frost on the way:

A few more chances for some frosty morning, and possibly even freezing temperatures.  Coldest numbers over the extended will be tonight, Wednesday night, and Sunday night.

8 day forecast:

Relatively quiet weather over the next several days.  Only rain chance comes with a weak system moving through the Midwest, Friday.  temperatures look to remain below average over the next week.
