Hot holiday with storm chances arriving Wednesday evening
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– It’s going to be hot and humid for Independence Day. Rain holds off until late Wednesday evening.
TODAY: We’ll start with a little light haze across the state this morning. Mild and muggy this morning and the high humidity sticks around for the rest of the day. We’ll see mostly sunny skies for the afternoon with highs climbing into the upper 80s near 90. Winds will be light so you won’t really feel any relief from a breeze today. There may be an isolated shower that forms later this afternoon. Coverage is small, only about a 10% chance for a pop up shower.

TONIGHT: It looks dry for any fireworks shows tonight. We’ll see mild and muggy conditions this evening. Lows fall into the upper 60s.

WEDNESDAY: Temperatures climb a few more degrees for Wednesday. Humidity sticks around with feels like temperatures in the low and middle 90s. Much of the day will be dry with winds out of the south. Skies stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy. A slow moving system moves into the state late tonight. This will bring a chance for showers and thunderstorms. Some of the thunderstorms Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning may be on the stronger side. There’s a slight risk some of the thunderstorms may reach severe criteria with damaging winds and large hail.

THURSDAY: Showers and storms are possible for the first part of the day. It becomes less humid throughout the day with temperatures closer to normal. Highs Thursday will be in the lower 80s.

8DAY FORECAST: The end of the week and start of the weekend looks great. Highs stay in the lower 80s with partly cloudy skies. Next chance of rain will be Sunday and Monday.
