Mostly sunny end to the weekend for most, but rain will return by mid-week

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We’ve seen a pretty nice end to the weekend with the exception of a few stray storms in eastern and southern ends of the viewing area. Highs managed to top out in the mid to upper 80s in most areas.

TONIGHT: After a mostly dry and sunny day for most of us, a couple of areas to the east could see some isolated showers later this evening.

Temps will drop to an overnight low in the mid 60s for the Indy Metro area. The rest of the state will dive down to temperatures in the lower 60s and even upper 50s.

Clouds will clear out overnight to give a better view for the Perseid Meteor Shower as it peaks tonight. The best time to view this is between 2 AM and dawn.

TOMORROW: A beautiful start to your Monday with mid 60s and clear conditions for the morning commute to school or work.

It will be a gorgeous day with some partly cloudy skies by lunch time and highs reaching up to the mid 80s.

TUESDAY: Another dry day planned for Tuesday with a clear start to the day and temperatures in the upper 60s by 8 AM.

Partly cloudy conditions settle in for the afternoon hours. A blast of summer heat will accompany Tuesday with a high of 88°, but not too humid so it will feel relatively pleasant.

8-DAY FORECAST: We will have a dry start to the work week, but rain will be the story for the remainder of the week and going into the weekend.

Scattered storms on Wednesday and a generous amount of rain planned for Thursday.

Drier conditions settle in for Friday before more rain chances move in for the rest of the weekend.

With the rain on Wednesday, temperatures will also cool down to the low 80s and upper 70s.

High temps will fluctuate between the mid 80s and low 80s for the weekend and into the start of next week.
