Rain chances and cooler air on the way

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After a magnificent first half of the week with above average temperatures, a cooldown will arrive for the second half of the week with returning rain chances.

Wednesday night: Skies will become mostly cloudy ahead of our next weather system. Isolated showers look to develop after sunset.

A mild night will be on tap due to the extra cloud cover, which will keep temperatures from falling too much. Lows will only dip into the upper 50s.

Thursday: Isolated rain showers will continue to be possible through part of our Thursday morning. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible.

Cooler temperatures are expected for the afternoon hours with highs only rising into the mid 60s.

Friday: The cooldown will persist into our Friday with mainly cloudy skies. You will want to have a jacket on hand as highs will only manage to top out in the upper 50s.

8-Day Forecast: Saturday will be the best weather day over the next eight days. Lots of sunshine and comfortable air will be present with highs in the low 60s. Rain and storm chances are set to quickly return for Sunday and linger into Monday. Temperatures look to warmup slightly through the first half of next week.
