Rain this afternoon and a wet and windy start to the weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Happy Friday, everyone! We’re off to another mostly clear and cold start Friday morning with temps in the mid to upper 30s and wind chill values dipping as low as the upper 20s to low 30s. Bundle up!

Temperatures will slowly crawl into the mid 50s this afternoon with increasing cloud cover and rain chances.

Highs could top the low 60s in a few of our southernmost communities with a little more sunshine before the rain arrives.

Rain chances will rise through the afternoon hours, peaking right around or just before dinner time.

If you’re heading to any of the high school football games this evening, bundle up and bring something to keep yourself dry with continued rain chances and cool temps Friday evening.

Through the overnight, we will dry out and cool down into the mid to upper 40s in most areas.

If you’re going to one of the earlier college games Saturday, rain is a possibility, so plan for that. Happy Homecoming, Ball State!

High temps will top out in the upper 50s and low 60s Saturday afternoon with very breezy conditions. Winds will gust to 25-30 mph or more at times.

The late football games will likely be a bit more dry, at least by the time the games wrap-up. Temperatures will be chilly though as the northwest wind drags us down into the upper 40s to low 50s.
As temps continue to drop, cold air aloft will help to change some lingering moisture into flurries late Saturday evening, though none will stick.

Behind our wet weekend start, we’ll dry out for the Colts game Sunday with a better chance than not for the roof to be open, though temps will be chilly.

The dry streak and below average temp streak will continue through the first half of next work week.

Isolated rain showers look to return by this time next week with high temps returning to where we started, in the mid 50s.
