Rainy and windy Thursday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After another pleasant above average fall day, prepare for a major pattern shift with rain chances and much colder air on the way.

Wednesday night: A mild night is ahead with lots of cloud cover sticking around. Lows will only fall into the low 50s.

Thursday: Have the rain jacket on hand as we are looking at an active Thursday with rain showers moving through the state in the morning and afternoon hours.

Along with the rain, it will become very windy in the afternoon. Wind gusts could exceed 35-40 MPH at times.

Highs look to occur a little bit earlier in the day before the rain moves in. Temperatures will rise into the upper 50s to low 60s.

Friday: We will have a much cooler start to the day for our Friday with temperatures in the upper 30s. Windy conditions are set to stick around throughout the day with gusts up to 30 MPH at times. There is the chance for a wintry mix late Friday.

Highs will only manage to top out in the upper 40s to low 50s.

8-Day Forecast: Temperatures will only continue to drop as we stroll into the weekend. We will struggle to get into the low 40s for Saturday and Sunday. Additional wintry mix chances are in play for late Saturday and Sunday. We will then quickly rebound back towards the 60s by midweek next week before more rain chances slide into the forecast.
