Short warmup, rain by Thanksgiving Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Cold and breezy conditions were the theme for our Monday. Temperatures did not get out of the 30s across much of the state despite lots of sunshine during the day. We are looking at a short warming trend before rain chances return by Thanksgiving Day.

Monday night: Prepare for the coldest night of the season as temperatures drop into the low 20s under mainly clear skies. When you factor in the wind chill, some areas may feel like the upper teens.

Tuesday: You will want the winter coat, hat, and gloves as a cold start will be on deck for our Tuesday. By the afternoon hours, we will bring in slightly warmer temperatures with bright skies sticking around. Highs look to creep into the low 40s.

Wednesday: Wednesday will by far be the best weather day in this forecast. A mix of sun and clouds will hang around during the day. Cloud cover is set to eventually increase after sunset, which will lead way to our next chance of rain. Showers look to start developing by late Wednesday.

Highs will make a push into the low 50s.

8-Day Forecast: If you were looking forward to a pleasant and dry Thanksgiving Day, unfortunately it does not quite look like that will materialize. We are tracking a damp Thanksgiving Day with on and off showers and breezy winds. For those who may have to do any last minute traveling, you will be good until minor travel impacts slide in with Thursday’s rain. We look to fall back into the 30s for our highs on Friday and struggle to rise into the 40s through the upcoming weekend.
