Snow accumulation possible Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Light snow will move through central Indiana Sunday. 

Saturday night:

Overnight, conditions remain quiet. Lows across the state will sit below freezing, with most locations sitting in the upper 20s. In the metro we will sit at a low of 27 degrees.

Sunday: 

Snow comes into the picture for Sunday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday for southern and southeastern Indiana. 

The snow starts early Sunday morning and will continue throughout the day. A few heavier bursts of snow will be possible around lunchtime. We may see a few slick spots as the snow will accumulate on untreated roads. 

Most of central Indiana will see around 1-2 inches of snow. Areas north of Indianapolis, including Lafayette, Kokomo and Muncie, will likely see a dusting up to an inch. 

Temperatures throughout the day will remain below freezing the high will be 30 degrees.

8-Day Forecast:

A surge of cold air pushes in on Monday and will stick around for the first part of the week. Wind chill values fall below zero early Monday morning.  

Highs will be 20 degrees below normal for the first couple days of the new workweek with single-digit lows. 

Temperatures gradually rise by the end of the workweek. But with the warmer air comes with a chance of rain and snow Thursday.
