INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The colder air has arrived and snow develops late tonight into the first part of Sunday.

TODAY: It’s going to be cloudy and chilly throughout the day Saturday. Look for mostly cloudy skies with highs near 40. Winds will be a bit breezy out of the west and may gust up to 20 mph at times. There’s a slight chance we may see an isolated sprinkle or a few flakes.

TONIGHT: Clouds hang around tonight. Snow showers begin to develop and by early Sunday morning, many of us may have some light accumulations on grassy surfaces. Lows fall to 30.

SUNDAY: We’ll see a snowy start to Sunday. Snow showers will be possible during the first part of the day. Light accumulations are possible on grassy surfaces. There’s a better chance of seeing more accumulating snow in the northern part of the state. The snow will change over to a rain/snow mix later in the morning and into the afternoon. It’s going to be breezy with highs near 40.

MONDAY: Clouds begin to break up a little and we’ll see some sunshine on Monday. Highs climb into the lower 40s.

8DAY FORECAST: After a cloudy and chilly weekend, we slowly begin to warm up for the new workweek. Look for highs in the middle to upper 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday. It stays dry for the first part of the workweek, but a system moves into the area Wednesday. We’ll see a chance for rain Wednesday. Temperatures drop back into the 40s for the end of the week.
