Tracking Friday’s snow

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After another mild day across the region, we will see precipitation chances return for Thursday night. Then, we look towards some snow to end the workweek.

Thursday night: Rain showers will move in after sunset. Some rain could changeover to snow mainly north of interstate 70.

Lows will dip into the upper 20s to low 30s.

Friday: An active end to the workweek will be ahead as we start off with isolated snow shower/mix chances north of interstate 70.

Snow coverage will become widely scattered during the afternoon and evening hours. A wintry mix could get involved with the snow at times. There is the possibility of locally intense bursts of snow, and these snow bursts will reduce visibilities. Expect some travel disruptions and slick roads.

Light snow accumulations will be possible with very localized higher amounts possible.

Highs will be back to near average for this time of the year as we top out in the mid to upper 30s.

Weekend: The snow chances will not end there for us as we will keep scattered snow shower chances in play throughout our weekend. Additional light accumulations could result for some areas across central Indiana. Skies will be mostly cloudy as highs will only rise into the low to mid 30s.

8 Day Forecast: We look to kick off the new workweek on a dry note. A gradual warm-up will then slowly roll in throughout the week. Several chances for precipitation are in place in the extended forecast as highs push into the mid 40s by the latter half of the workweek.
