Warm Tuesday with storm chances

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It was a warm and breezy Labor Day for us across the state with some areas even picking up on afternoon sprinkles. We will turn towards another warm afternoon for our Tuesday with rain and storm chances returning.

Monday night: Prepare for a muggy but mild night. Although there is the chance for scattered sprinkles late, it will be a mainly dry night with lows in the low to mid 60s.

Tuesday: Slightly warmer temperatures are expected Tuesday, and winds will become breezy by the afternoon hours. This will be ahead of our next chance for rain and storms as there is the potential for development in the late afternoon and nighttime hours.

Isolated strong to severe storm chances are in place for areas mainly north of interstate 70 with damaging winds and large hail as the primary hazard.

Highs will rise into the mid 80s.

Wednesday: Once we move Tuesday’s activity out of the state, pleasant air will return for our Wednesday. Enjoy a marvelous afternoon with abundant sunshine and low humidity values. Highs are set to top out in the mid to upper 70s.

8 Day Forecast: The fantastic weather trend will persist through the remainder of the workweek before we work in another warming trend for the upcoming weekend. Highs look to return to the low to mid 80s by Saturday. Currently, much of the extended forecast is dry except for late Tuesday.
