Warmer temperatures ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A cold Wednesday was the story across the state with scattered rain and snow showers occurring throughout the day.

Wednesday night: A Freeze Warning will be in effect from 1 AM to 10 AM Thursday morning.

Isolated showers will linger through the nighttime hours.

Another cold night is ahead under mainly cloudy skies. We will be very close to record low temperature numbers, and our record low for April 22nd is 27° set back in 1936. Lows will fall into the upper 20s to low 30s.

Thursday: A warmup will move in for our Thursday with lots of sunshine and breezy winds. Highs will manage to rise into the mid 50s.

Friday: We will be rewarded with a nice end to the workweek as temperatures will climb closer to average for this time of the year. Friday will be a mainly dry day before isolated showers begin moving in overnight into Saturday. Highs will climb into the upper 50s to low 60s.

8 Day Forecast: Have the umbrella handy for Saturday as showers will be likely throughout the day. We will dry out by Sunday with highs in the upper 50s. Once we open up the new workweek next week, warmer air will once again swing into the state. Highs look to surge into the 70s as we get closer to the middle of next week.
