Wet Friday ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — We are tracking a very active Friday before we stroll into a chilly weekend. There is even the threat for severe weather on Friday as well.

Thursday night: Rain and storm chances will continue to ramp up going into the nighttime hours.

An isolated strong to severe storm or two is possible in the evening hours. Isolated damaging winds and a brief tornado are possible.

Lows will fall into the mid 60s.

Friday: Expect a wet Friday with on and off showers and storms throughout the day.

Isolated strong to severe storms are possible during the afternoon hours. Greatest threat for severe weather lies mainly south of interstate 70. Damaging winds and an isolated tornado are possible. Flooding issues could also arise from repeated rounds of heavy rain.

Highs will only push into the upper 60s to low 70s.

Weekend: Isolated showers are possible before sunrise Saturday. Once Friday’s system moves out of the area, we will stroll into a chilly and windy Saturday. It will be time to get out the sweaters and pants as highs will struggle to get out of the 50s for some locations. Cool and comfortable weather sticks around through Sunday with highs in the mid 60s.

8-Day Forecast: We look to warmup slightly entering the new workweek. Highs will briefly get back to the 70s near midweek before we taper back into the 60s.
