MICHAELA SPRINGER

Michaela Springer was born in Evansville, grew up in the middle-of-nowhere Southern Illinois, then lived in the Greater Pittsburgh area during their college years. They now live in northwest Indianapolis with their houseplant, James.

They graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in writing. During college, they interned with Human City Creative, a small film company focused on telling the hidden stories of Western PA, and worked as a photographer, videographer, writer, and editor. They also worked as a stage manager for the college’s Bagpiper Theater, and wrote for the school’s literary magazine, The Chimes. 

After college, they moved to Indianapolis, working at both a bookstore and a steak house, before joining WISH-TV in March 2023 as a digital journalist.

When they’re not at the writing desk, they are still probably writing something in their free time. They also enjoy creating digital art, reading fantasy novels, indulging in crime documentaries, and playing tabletop roleplaying games.
