Demie Johnson

Demie Johnson started her career at WISH-TV in 2019 after spending two years at WLFI in West Lafayette.

She was hired at WLFI to create the station’s first morning liveshot MMJ position. After doing that for 6 months, she moved to a dayside reporting position where she also learned how to produce and eventually took over the weekend anchor/producer role.

Over the years, Demie has covered notable cases like the Delphi double homicide and the investigation into former USA Gymnastics team doctor, Larry Nassar.

Demie was born and raised right on Lake Michigan in Michigan City, Indiana.

She is a graduate of Ball State University where she double majored in Journalism and Telecommunications. While at Ball State, she was an anchor and reporter for BSU’s TV station, NewsLink Indiana.

Demie was also an intern at WISH-TV in 2016. She is a graduate and a member of the NPPA News Video Workshop.

In her free time, she loves running 5ks and being on stage. Demie is a competitor in both the Miss USA and Miss America Organizations. She was fourth runner up to Miss Indiana USA in October. She has held several local titles in the Miss America Organization where she placed top 10 in Miss Indiana twice.
