In her love for music she has sung in choirs in school and church, and today she sang for us at Indy Style giving everyone chills! Kelsi Marie, singer/song-writer and Damon Karl, singer/song-writer filled our studio with the beautiful sounds of music filled with positive messages. Take a listen.
It was a video of her singing Etta James “At Last” that caught the attention of music industry veteran Sid “Uncle Jamz” Johnson after she was recommended by Skypp.
Her debut single with MECAP Music was “I Just Can’t” which featured saxophone work from Indy’s own Bryan Thompson (called B. Thompson nowadays). She followed that up with the pop-tinged “Shine Your Light”.
Her third single was “Bringing the Truth”, which caught the attention of the Philadelphia market. Due to her deep feelings of racial equality for all people, she wrote the very thought evoking “Freedom,” which like all of her recordings was accompanied by a music video, albeit this one was very poignant with its powerful message.
She followed that up with her current single “Underestimated”.
A lover of R&B music, when not doing music she is a professional make-up artist. She is looking forward to performing in downtown Brownsburg, Indiana on July 1st at 7 p.m. for their Summer series of ROCK THE BLOCK concerts with label-mate Damon Karl.
She is also working on her next single slated for release in July as well.
