Valentine’s Day is one week away, and there’s a special way you can “Share Some Love” this year.

You can send a valentine greeting to families at the local Ronald McDonald House.

RMHCCIN loves, serves and cares for families during their toughest times, and this year they’re celebrating 40 years of providing a supportive home away from home for families of children receiving medical care at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health and other area hospitals. Each night, as many as 51 families call the House “home.”

Robin Chalmers, events manager for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana, joined us today to share how you can help support the charity’s families.

Valentines are on sale for just $5 each and all donations will go directly to help fund overnight stays for families in need.

You can send as many Valentines as you would like to a family and deck their door with these sweet cards of support. RMHCCIN’s goal is to deck each door with as many valentine as possible to share the love and brighten a family’s stay at the House.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana (RMHCCIN) is hosting their annual Taste gala, Taste at Home Again in Indiana, on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. This year’s event will be held virtually, celebrating RMHCCIN and everything Indiana with Hoosier delicacies.

Chef Vlad, executive chef of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana and Robin Chalmers, RMHCCIN events manager, joined us today to share more about the upcoming event.

To complement the virtual program, party boxes will be the tickets to the event and will include everything needed to follow along with the program. Each box will include Indiana-made snacks, spirits and goodies. One party box will serve 2-3 guests.

During the program, guests will learn how to create their own charcuterie board and cocktails. There will also be the option to add on a Kendra Scott jewelry pull, home-cooked lasagna or a local floral arrangement. Guests do not need to purchase a party box to watch the online program, bid on silent auction items or donate directly to RMHCCIN.

Since 1982, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana has been keeping families together and near the care they need. That’s over 35 years of warm beds, hot showers, homemade meals and a good night’s rest so families can face the weight of an illness together. Proceeds from Taste at Home contribute a significant portion of annual revenue and help sustain the Ronald McDonald House mission of providing a supportive “home-away-from-home” for families of children receiving medical care at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health and other Indianapolis-area hospitals.
