INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — WISH-TV is proud to partner with Toys for Tots as the Indianapolis campaign is being recognized on a national level.
It has been named the 2020 Toys for Tots National Marine Unit of the Year.
This is the first national award for Indianapolis.
Last year, the organization served more than 30,000 children in Indianapolis and 12 other counties.
Governor Eric Holcomb congratulated the organizations work Tuesday at his office, praising those who helped make the award possible.
“If you’ve donated, volunteered, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Holcomb said.
Toys for Tots says due to fewer restrictions, the sky is the limit on what they can achieve this year.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two of Central Indiana’s oldest and best examples of holiday giving are teaming up: WISH Tree and Toys for Tots.
Toys for Tots launched its drive Friday.
Later in the year, as the exclusive media partner for this year’s Toys for Tots, WISH-TV will host a toy drive to benefit the effort.
Sabrina Young with Toys for Tots and Alexander Baye, gunnery sergeant with the U.S. Marines, joined “Daybreak” to talk about the efforts.
