Gregg Montgomery is a true Hoosier born in Lafayette and now a Noblesville homeowner. He grew up on a farm in Alexandria that’s been in the family more than 150 years.
He graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School. He occasionally says, “Boiler up!” because of his days attending Purdue University. While in college, he worked for The Associated Press and The Indianapolis News as a stringer, and was a staff writer for his hometown’s weekly newspaper during time off from Purdue.
One semester, he took a public relations internship at Bader Rutter advertising agency in Milwaukee and got to travel the Midwest for Harley-Davidson Motor Co., AMC Theatres and the former Deutz-Allis farm equipment corporation.
Upon leaving West Lafayette, he took a job with the former Noblesville Daily Ledger and Topics Newspapers, where he worked for more than a decade.
