Anderson police locate missing 16-year-old girl in California
“Anderson, IN—On 12/26/2021, the Anderson Police was contacted by Kristen Johnson, stating that she had received a message from her missing daughter Jayda Johnson. Jayda advised her mother that she was in a café in Santa Monica, California. At this time, the Santa Monica Police Department was contacted, and they were able to locate Jayda and place her into their custody without incident. Jayda was then released to the Department of Children and Family Services to be reunited with her mother. The Anderson Police will await her arrival back to Anderson to conduct a follow-up interview for the investigation.”

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) — Anderson police are seeking help to find a missing 16-year-old girl.
Jayda Johnson had left during the night without permission, her mother told police on Dec. 9, from her home in the 300 block of East 36th Street. That’s northeast of the intersection of East 38th and Main streets.
The mother also expressed concerns to police about her daughter’s safety and well-being due to a previous conversation involving personal issues Jayda was having.
Police said in a news release that they’d electronically located Jayda’s cellphone near St. Louis, but searches by police in Missouri did not find her.
The release did not provide any additional information about the girl.
