After delay, when will Donald Trump announce his running mate?

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — In light of the terror attack in France, Donald Trump has postponed his Friday event where he was planning to reveal his running mate. It’s widely reported that Trump has asked Pence to be on the ticket, and Pence traveled to the northeast Thursday.

It’s not clear when Trump will make the announcement now, but Pence must drop out of the race for governor on Friday. As far as we know, Pence is still in New York City.

24-Hour News 8 was there when his plane took off at the Mount Comfort airport and crews in New York got video of him entering a Manhattan hotel.

Trump could make the official announcement over the weekend, or he could wait until the start of the GOP convention on Monday. While all signs point to Pence, it’s possible he could change course.

Trump spoke to Fox News Thursday evening, after delaying his running mate announcement.

“I haven’t made my final, final decision. I mean, I have got three people that are fantastic. I think Newt is a fantastic person. I think Chris Christie is a fantastic person. Been a friend of mine for 15 years. Just a fantastic person. And there is Mike. Mike has done a great job as governor of Indiana. You look at the numbers, and he has done really a fantastic job. But I haven’t made a final, final decision,” said Trump.

Governor Pence must drop out of the gubernatorial race by noon on Friday.
