Arrest warrants issued for 2 people involved in fatal Kokomo crash

KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — Arrest warrants have been issued for two people involved in a fatal crash in Kokomo on Dec. 11, the Kokomo Police Department said Wednesday.

The crash occurred near the intersection of North Berkley Road and West Jefferson Street around 3:15 a.m. when a Nissan driven by 34-year-old William Lane, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, struck another vehicle minutes after fleeing when police attempted to pull him over. Lane was driving at a high rate of speed when the collision happened, according to police.

One of the passengers in the Nissan, Sydney Glenn, 24, of Kokomo, was killed in the crash. Police said Lane, another passenger in the Nissan — 26-year-old Shaduan Marks, of Racine, Wisconsin — and the driver of the second vehicle — 35-year-old James Conwell, of Kokomo — were taken to the hospital.

Lane is charged with reckless homicide, operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in death, operating a vehicle while intoxicating resulting in serious bodily injury and driving with a suspended or revoked license resulting in death.

Marks is charged with aiding, inducing or causing reckless homicide and aiding, inducing or causing operating while intoxicated resulting in death.
