IMPD K-9 catches man accused of stealing camper
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man accused of stealing a camper has been caught by a police dog after a chase on the city’s northeast side.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says a K-9 caught and bit the suspect.
Officers say they chased the suspect after noticing a stolen camper was being pulled by an SUV on 65th Street just before 4:30 a.m.
The chase ended on 56th Street near Cathedral High School. The suspect then bailed out of the SUV.
Officers set up a perimeter and the K-9 caught the suspect after he swam across Fall Creek.
An ambulance was called and the suspect was hospitalized following the K-9 bite.
His name has not been released.
