Icy stretch of I-65 causes numerous crashes near 30th St.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A number of crashes were reported Thursday morning on a small stretch of Interstate 65 on the near north side of Indianapolis.
According to Indiana State Police dispatch, an icy section of Interstate 65 near 30th Street had caused five or six crashes shortly before 6 a.m.
It’s unclear if anyone was badly hurt in those crashes or not.
Police say INDOT was notified to treat the icy stretch of the interstate. Around 7 a.m., crews had been through several times to salt.
Drivers should continue to use caution as refreezing continues to be a concern around the state.
