7 Indianapolis massage parlors raided amid human trafficking investigation

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A slew of investigators conducted seven raids at massage parlors in Marion County and in Johnson County.

The investigation involved a human trafficking investigation.

According Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department the investigation started in January of 2015.

During the eight-month investigation, police identified several business in Indiana and Georgia as possible culprits.

Law enforcement partners from across the state executed warrants at seven massage parlor locations and at two private residences.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were at Ariel’s Aromatherapy massage parlor at 3675 W. 86th Street around 11 a.m.

Six other locations were also raided:

  • 4303 S. East Street
  • 5235 Rockville Road
  • 1381 Shadeland Avenue
  • 5663 Maplewood Drive, Speedway
  • 5633 Maplewood Drive, Speedway
  • 4800 W. Smith Valley Road, Johnson County

Property was seized that may be related to human trafficking, as well as $55,000 in cash.

Several victims were removed from the business and brought to a local police district where they talked with a translator. The victims will then been taken to a safe shelter outside of Indianapolis.

So far police have not made any arrest.
