Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program brings gifts to 5,000+ children

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Salvation Army brought back its annual Angel Tree program, despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers expanded the event to four days, two locations and made the distribution a drive-thru event.

Every year the Angel Tree program makes sure kids with families in need get Christmas gifts. During the event, the Salvation Army hopes to meet the wish list of more than 5,000 children. Donors then ‘adopted’ the angels at angel trees in local malls or online. Then donors shopped and purchased the items on the children’s wish lists.

Salvation Army leaders say they are still in great need of volunteers. Click here if you’d like to help.
