‘This is our Super Bowl’: Florists frenzied ahead of Valentine’s Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Florists describe the week of Valentine’s Day as their Super Bowl.

Many of them are slammed with shipments of flowers coming in on Monday and building arrangements nonstop leading up to Valentine’s Day on Friday. They spend hours cutting stems, removing foliage and filling orders, all with the phones ringing off the hook.

JP Parker Flowers in Indianapolis already has hundreds of orders to fill and they say that number will only grow the closer the big day gets.

They offer an array of options when it comes to a gift for your Valentine. You can build your own hand-tied bouquet at the flower bar, buy a pre-arranged bouquet or build a larger bouquet and customize it down to the vase.

JP Parker’s most popular item this time of year is a classic bouquet of red roses in a glass vase.

They offer delivery throughout the week and say if you want your flowers delivered to your sweetheart on Wednesday or Thursday as opposed to Valentine’s Day, they will waive the delivery fee.

The store also offers chocolates, cards and stuffed animals in case you need to make a quick, last-minute stop on your way home.

They have locations in Indianapolis and Franklin.
