Armed robbery report leads to 4 arrests, including 911 caller
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette police responded to a reported armed robbery where four people were arrested, including the original 911 caller.
Just after midnight Thursday, police responded to the parking lot of Wal-Mart on Veterans Memorial Parkway South in Lafayette. The caller – Jerald Leuck Jr., 19, of Lafayette – told police he was robbed by gunpoint by a man, who was a passenger in a white car. The vehicle also had two other people inside of it.
A short time later, officers stopped a vehicle matching the description at North Ninth and Ferry streets. Police said officers located drugs and a stolen handgun.
Arrested at the traffic stop were: Hunter Evans, 19, of West Lafayette; Dayquan Johnson, 18, of Lafayette; and Mark Daugherty, 20, of Lafayette.
But following further investigation, Lafayette police said Leuck was also arrested. He faces charges for false informing and multiple drug-related counts.
The following are the preliminary charges the four people arrested face:Mark Daugherty:
- Never receiving license
- Possession of a synthetic drug
Dayquan Johnson:
- Possession of a stolen firearm
- Carrying a handgun without a license
Hunter Evans:
- Possession of a synthetic drug
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of schedule IV controlled substance
Jerald Leuck Jr.:
- False informing
- Dealing marijuana
- Possession of marijuana
- Possession of paraphernalia
- Possession of schedule IV controlled substance
