Beloved Dr. Seuss remembered by fans of all ages
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – “Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!”
To celebrate what would have been his 111th birthday, Dr. Seuss fans near and far took to social media on Monday, some posting pictures holding his books, others tweeting out some of his most memorable quotes. “Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss” was trending nationally on Twitter by mid-morning Monday.Story continues below tweets:

In Indianapolis, the Shortridge Magnet High School for Law and Public Policy cheerleaders read their favorite Dr. Seuss selections to elementary students in honor of the author’s birthday.
As a magazine cartoonist, Theodor Seuss Geisel began signing his work under the mock-scholarly title of “Dr. Theophrastus Seuss” in 1927. He shortened that to “Dr. Seuss” in 1928.
