Crews respond to I-69 vehicle fire on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Crews are currently on scene battling a vehicle fire on the city’s northeast side.

Firefighters responded to a semi which had caught fire on I-69 southbound near I-465  on the northeast side just before 12:30 p.m.

The ramp of I-69 southbound near I-465 in that area was closed as crews were fighting the flames and cleaning up the scene.

The driver had left the scene and had to be called back, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.

IFD said about 50 gallons of fuel spilled.
