Boy found shot dead when mom arrives at north side apartment, police say

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A mother came home Thursday night to find her teenage son fatally shot.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 2000 block of Woodglen Drive, near 79th Street and Township Line Road at the Dogwood Glen Apartments, around 10:40 p.m. Thursday on a report of a person shot. 

A woman came home and found her son dead, according to police at the scene. 

The victim has since been identified as 17-year-old Elijah Gordon.

No additional information about the shooting was immediately available.
