Person dies in shooting near 25th Street, Sherman Drive

UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the man who was shot and killed Friday as 20-year-old Genesis Collins Mixon.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person died following a shooting on the city’s east side, police say.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded just before noon to a report of a person shot in the 2600 block of North Sherman Drive. The shooting was in a residential and commercial area near East 25th Street.
Police say that one person died.
No further information was immediately available.
