Rushville man in custody following death of 4-year-old boy

RUSHVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — A Rush County man is in custody following the death of a 4-year-old boy last month, the Rush County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

On Sept. 21 just before noon, deputies responded to reports of an unresponsive child. The initial call said that the boy had fallen off a playset.

Upon arrival, first responders found the victim, Sylas Felix-Glass, 4, and transported him to Rush Memorial Hospital. Felix-Glass was pronounced dead at the hospital just after 12:30 p.m.

The Rush County Coroner’s Office determined that the child’s cause of death was homicide due to blunt force injuries to the head and abdomen.

Robert Scott Geise, who is Felix-Glass’s mother’s boyfriend, was arrested in connection with the homicide.

Geise’s charges include neglect of a dependent resulting in death and aggravated battery.

According to the sheriff’s office, Geise is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Rush County Jail.

Online court records to not yet indicate an initial appearance for Geise.
