Suspect in multiple bank robberies arrested after Carmel bank heist

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — Police in Carmel have arrested two suspects in connection to a Thursday afternoon bank robbery, police say.

According to Carmel Police Department, officers were called to Lake City Bank located at 9640 N. Michigan Rd just before 1 p.m. on reports of the bank being robbed.

Officers confirmed a male suspect fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. Shortly after the robbery, police say two suspects were arrested.

“There is no danger to the public at this time and the investigation is ongoing,” the Carmel Police Deparment said in a Facebook post Thursday afternoon.

An FBI spokesperson confirmed to News 8 that one of the suspects arrested was James Taylor of Indianapolis. Taylor was previously being sought in connection to multiple bank robberies in Marion County.

The identity of the other suspect in Thursday’s robbery has not yet been released.
