Flags at half-staff to honor ex-Indiana Sen. Sue Landske

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Flags at state facilities in Lake County will be flown at half-staff on Monday to honor late former state Sen. Sue Landske.

The (Munster) Times reports Gov. Mike Pence made the order for sunrise to sunset on Monday, the day of Landske’s funeral. The Cedar Lake Republican died Friday at age 77. A service is scheduled 6 p.m. Monday at Memory Land Funeral Home in Crown Point.

Landske was a veteran of the National Guard Reserve and served in the state Senate for 30 years. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in November 2013 and did not seek re-election in 2014.

Pence called Landske “a true public servant in every way.”
