IACC holds adoption special to celebrate Kitten Bowl

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It’s a super weekend for some cats who are finding new homes.

Mayor Joe Hogsett was among the people at Indianapolis Animal Care and Control Saturday.

They joined with more than 35 shelters across the country to celebrate Sunday’s Kitten Bowl on the Hallmark Channel.

IACC says 15 cats were adopted at Saturday’s event.

Local shelter officials say a variety of people are looking to take advantage of the one-day $10 adoption fee.

“We’ve had an 80-year-old lady come in looking for a companion to help give her some attention when the family’s away,” IACC Sgt. Ray Harris explained. “We’ve had young families come in with their little children, looking to teach their kids the responsibility of pet ownership, so young and old.”

IACC is also offering a Valentine’s Day special with $30 adoption fees.
