Indiana Latino Institute to host 10th annual Education Summit

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indiana Latino Institute wants to ensure higher education is a possibility for all students. To make this happen, the group will be hosting its 10th annual Education Summit.

The event is scheduled for Nov. 6. This year, it’ll be held virtually because of the pandemic.

During the event, students will be able to participate in workshops in both Spanish and English for high school students and parents and hear from Indiana University, Purdue University, Ivy Tech Community College and other institutions. They’ll also learn about how to apply for scholarships.

In addition, there will be a College and Career Fair where participants can interact with representatives from schools and companies.

“I do believe that whether it’s financial aid or legal status or any other issues, it shouldn’t impede any other student to access — whether it’s a one year or two years or four years of education,” said the president and CEO of the Indiana Latino Institute, Marlene Dotson.

The event is free of charge and students can register online. For more information about the event, visit the Indiana Latino Institute’s Facebook page.
