Indiana approaches 250 flu deaths

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH-TV) – Indiana health officials announced another 16 flu-related deaths on Friday, bringing the state’s total for the season to 246.

The department’s weekly report indicated the deaths occurred between mid-December and early March.

The deaths include one person between the ages of 18 and 24.

Five new counties reported at least five flu-related deaths this season: Delaware, Hancock, Jackson, Montgomery, and Wayne.

A new report issued Friday by the CDC continued to list Indiana with ‘minimal’ flu activity.
